Janey Brekke is the mother of Laurie Brekke and Jordie and the wife of Stig Brekke. She was separated from her husband for a short time, during which she had a relationship with an unknown man and conceived her son, Jordie. She works nights at the hospital in Blackwell, often leaving her children in the care of their neighbor, Mrs Weaver.
